This research project is aimed at discovering the links between the parasitic infection lymphatic filariasis (LF) and progression to its chronic disease sequelea, elephantiasis. LF is the second leading cause of disability globally affecting 120 million people living in some of the world's poorest countries. If we can find out what drives progression from infection to disability then we can develop interventions to prevent this. This study is the research project of Doctoral Candidate, Jan Doulgass. 100% of donated funds will be used in the study, the university does not collect any fees.
