Homo naledi   Professor Paul Dirks Presentation

Almost Human - a presentation by Professor Paul Dirks

Professor Paul Dirks from JCU has been hot on the trail of finding our human ancestors for the last 15 years, most recently he was part of the team who investigated the Rising Star Cave system in South Africa, which has proved to be the richest fossil hominin site in Africa yet discovered.  As well as sharing the detective work that went into the actual discoveries Paul will explain the significance of the age of these primitive small-brained hominins as it is likely that they were living alongside Homo Sapiens, the first humans in South Africa.  It’s a riveting story, that will have you on the edge of your seat!

Thursday 26 October |   Doors open 5: 30pm
presentation will begin at 6:00pm
